The Swan Song of Righteous Rock 2.0

Last Friday ended our third semester of Righteous Rock at DIS. Our most recent 2.0 version was dedicated to the best Christian rock of 1989-2003. It was a fun, wild and diverse ride! Here was our lineup for the last go-around until next semester:

Doin' Nothing (Swamp Version - Revelator CD) by Phil Keaggy
A fun rocking tune with a swinging jazzy "outro" that suffered greatly when our speakers
decided not to work properly.

Black Flag by King's X
First time ever for the power trio to grace the presence of RR.

Beyond Belief (Live video version from FAREWELL DVD)

The Occasion of Your Honest Dreaming & Words of Honor by Proto-Kaw (Live Video)
Kerry Livgren and the "first" Kansas crew may be looking their age, but they can still
play some fun tunes.

A good time had by all!

Coming in January: Righteous Rock 1.2 (Third version of the original RR covering the years 1969-1988. It will be fun for all. RR will be looking forward to hearing your comments and views on the music. Because let's face it, it's all about the music!

Long live Rachel Rachel!

Rich Mullins Song Lyrics of the Week

Week IV
"It's hard to be like Jesus."

Week III
"Saints and children we are gathered here, to hear the sacred story. And I'm glad to bring it to you with my best rhyming and rhythm. Cause I know the thirsty listen, down at the waters calm. And the Holy King of Israel loves me here in America"

Week II

"Talk about your miracles. Talk about your faith. My Dad he could make things grow out of Indiana clay. Mom could make a gourmet meal out of just corn bread and beans. And they worked to give faith hands and feet, and somehow gave it wings."

Week I
"The moon is a sliver of silver like the shaving that fell on the floor of a carpenter's shop. Every house must have its builder. I awoke in the house of God. "
